Ireland - The Great Hunger

This week, I would like to write about chapter 6 of Ireland. Chapter 6 is about the Great Hunger, thousands of people died because of hunger in the west Ireland in the 1840s. In 1795 and 1798, the Irish people fought the British with the help of French ships and soldiers, but they defeated and most Catholics were killed. Three years later, the Act of Union made Ireland and Britain one countly in London. For a hundred years after this, Catholic Irishman and Protestants came into conflict because they have different opinions about the Act of Union. At this time, the Great Hunger started in the west of Ireland. Many Catholics had nothing to eat. The most of them went to America to find a new better life, but hundreds of them died on the ships to move. When these poor Irish people died, the Irish language nearly died with them. Most Catholic people spoke English and Irish teacher had to use English in school. At that period, many people thought that Irish is not important. Howe

Aladdin

I read Aladdin last week. Have you ever read or watch this story? I had known it since I had watched Disney anime movie. I read it for the first time. The story was different from the anime I watched because Abanazar appeared suddenly and said Aladdin "You're Aladdin's uncle." In the anime, his parents didn't appear, so I was surprised to know it. My favorite character is Jusmin. She is a princess in this story, and beautiful, powerful and strong. She changed her mind after noticing that Vizier's son doesn't love her. By the way, did you watch the live action film? The actress who acts as Jusmin sings "Speechless". I want you to hear it because most women can feel empathy with her feelings. I love it! I read Next Door to Love this week. This story is about Stella, a woman who works as a chief in Italian Restaurant. She had a boyfriend before, but she thought she didn't need a man after they broke up. One day, a man came as her neighbor. His name is Tony. Tony has a pretty daughter, but he cannot see her because he and his ex-wife broke up, so he was always sad and Stella worried him. Stella's friend Janet said to her, "Everybody needs someone.", but she didn't think so. The next day, she worked hard at restaurant and invited to go to the film by Klaus, her restaurant's waiter, but Tony invited her to go to a bar in the same day. She said to Klaus "OK" at first, so she had to turn down, but she noticed she wanted to go with Tony, so she invited him tomorrow. At that night, Klaus said her "I like you a lot.", but she couldn't say "I like you too." because she didn't know her feelings. I have three p

Ireland history

I read Ireland and learned the history of blood, bombs, and guns, from Chapter 5 to Chapter 8. In Ireland, the religious conflict has been continued a thousand years ago. At that time, there were many kings and they often fought each other. In 1536 the English church changed from Catholic to Protestant, so England was a Protestant countly, but Ireland was still Catholic. The Protestant English's king was the most important man in the Church for them, but for the Catholic Irish, the most important man was the Pope, the leader of the Catholic Church in Rome. Therefore, they had a lot of fighting in Ireland about this, and usually the English won. The king of England conducted the Plantation of Ulster, and Protestant Englishmen built a new town in a place called Derry and Londonderry. I was surprised to know it because I had never thought these fighting relate to the regions. In Japan we conflict a dispute over territorial rights in historical stories and the difference of opini
